Setting up and getting a new web site up and running is taunting. As one who has never had this task, I feel like giving up before even starting. I’ll do it tomorrow, or next week and that leads into NEVER ! I do not have to be perfect. I just saw Michelle Obama on television and that was her advice. I knew she was speaking to me. Writing my book, Bob’s Diner, is almost at the finish line. I felt it was possible to complete and yet I kept putting it off. What caused that procrastination to keep pushing me backwards and not forwards? I believe I kept wanting perfection. Not anymore ! Warts and all I will get this new web site up and running. My books will be launched, too. You will complete those incomplete projects. If I can — then so can you !!! All of our combined energy will make it happen.
Assignment: Let me know what you’ve been trying to complete, and tell me when it’s done. Hugs Ellen T. Leeds
Hi Ellen! Your tips and advice always seem to show up exactly when I need them, you’re like the indie author serendipitous wizard… Lol so thank you and keep posting. I am a first time author and I have a five book thriller series that is publishing now, I would love to send you the first book, I can send it on e-book, audiobook, or a paperback. Your choice. When I saw this blog, it was very helpful because I have spent the last three months trying to make my own website. I foolishly tried to pay a friend to do it and that was an absolute disaster, so I thought how hard can it be? Of Course I remember a time when we didn’t even have cable television, so building a website to me, no matter how easy the interface is still a very hard process. So this was particularly helpful because I was working on my website this afternoon when I found it! This is where I’ve gotten so far… i’m still working on it. Anyway, thanks for all the encouragement, it’s not lost on us lonely in the authors . – Tom Albright
